What a day! The busses picked us up bright and early from camp and we drove to ASTORGA, singing and laughing all the way. Today was an early start to a long and eventful day. We left early this morning to head to Astorga. Astorga is a very picturesque town with a lot of amazing history. It also is where part of the Camino de Santiago passes so we thought we'd have a little taste of our own Camino. Our first full day of camp got off to a great start! After a filling breakfast of toast and ColaCao, we headed up to the field to play some games. Sharks and minnows was a definite favourite. After taking a quick snack of fruit and water we began our first English class. In the class, we did a variety of activities to learn each other's names and a few fun facts. Day 2 began with a morning nature walk! We learned some new vocabulary in our English class: moss, bark, stick, rocks and set out to see what we could find. Kids were encouraged to pick up a few flowers or leaves from trees. Pablo even found a giant pine cone! We had an incredible first full day of camp! After breakfast we broke into two groups. The younger children had their first English class in the morning and the older children went up to the soccer field to stretch, be active and play games. Then we had snack and the children who had class first changed with the children who were playing games. We did introduction activities for the children to make new friends [...]
