The day was quiet, and no one could really believe it was really time to leave. The campers spent the morning cleaning their cabins and packing for the long trip home. There were a lot of hugs, and a few tears (none of my own, of course), as some of the kids began to leave.
When the rest of the parents arrived, there smiles all around. It was wonderful to see the kids' faces light up when their families walked through the gate, and into the English Fair. Our Instagram frame was a hit, and many photos were taken with families and friends. Even the monitors and teachers got involved.
The dance and theater kids performed for the parents, and gave it their all. I was so happy to see their hard work pay off, and they were so proud of the show. The parents loved it, and cheered for every group. It was wonderful to see everyone so happy, and to see the laughter from the theater skits.
Here's to a great summer. Thanks to my campers, teachers, monitors, and everyone who worked so hard to make the last two weeks a success.
