Today was the best!!!! We went to a lake (Embalse del Porma) to try out kayaking. It was many of the kids' first time in a kayak and one of them's first time in a lake!! I'm so glad we could introduce them to such a fun sport. While some groups were waiting for their turn they had a swim in the refreshing water - what a beautiful location!!! One of the boys told Okado it was the best day of his life!!! :-D We had 2 and 3 person kayaks so the little ones could have a go with a teacher, monitor or older camper. We kayaked out to the middle of the lake where we had a gorgeous view, and could jump out and swim there.
After we went to a little park in a nearby village caled Publa de Lillo and had sandwiches and watermelon.
After lunch it was time for a hike! We drove through the village and further up the mountain past some astonishing views and stopped beside another lake. From there we started our beautiful hike past the lake and along the river. A storm was threatening overhead and we saw some lightening amost the clouds but managed to make it to Isoba without getting wet. Today has been my favourite day so far - I love the outdoors, and the scenery was very similar to Scotland!!
What a great day! Lets see what happens tomorrow......
