Day trip to Astorga!!!

Today we had an exciting day trip to a nearby city.

We started with walking 3km of the Camino de Santiago - a great acheivement for the kids. Then my group visited the Palacio Episcopal which is an astounding Gaudi building, the kids were very impressed with the sculpture and paintings inside the palace. Next we visited the Museo Romano, which is an old roman forum with lots of intruiging artefacts saved from the Roman times. There the kids did a worksheet which involved looking at the various objects in the museum.

Lunch was a picnic in a lovely shady park, there was plenty of time to eat the sandwiches and fruit and then run around and play.

Finally we visited the Chocolate Museum - YUM!! We were shown how chocolate was traditionaly made by hand, and then later with simple machines. We sampled some chocolate, had a good look around the museum and then went to the shop to buy some delicious chocolate to take home.

Now we have arrived back at camp and the kids are about to eat dinner - it smells good!!

Until tomorrow!

Morag :-D
