Today we went on an excursion to Astorga! We left the camp around 9:30 in the morning and arrived in Astorga at about 10:30. We walked a short part of the camino de Santiago and then we went into the city. We started by visiting the fascinating Roman museum which explained the rich cultural history of Astorga. Then we went to the chocolate museum, which was truly incredible and definitely a favourite for the children. The chocolate is the best I have ever had! After that we had lunch in the park and continued onto the palace and cathedral. It was a fun, educational day for everyone. We returned to camp at night to have dinner. This was a very unique day and I’m sure it is a day that the children will never forget!
