Today was an early start to a long and eventful day. We left early this morning to head to Astorga. Astorga is a very picturesque town with a lot of amazing history. It also is where part of the Camino de Santiago passes so we thought we'd have a little taste of our own Camino.

After walking into Astorga we split into 3 groups for the activities: Roman museum, Gaudis palace, and the best part; the chocolate factory! The students watched an interesting video about the Roman ruins and did a mini-scavenger hunt for Roman artifacts. They also got to see the amazing architecture that Gaudi created.

We stopped in a beautiful park for a picnic lunch and a break in the afternoon.

But, I think thing the kids will most tell you about today was the delicious chocolate! We learned how chocolate is created, watched a cool video of the traditional "brazo" method and then... SAMPLES!!

My favourite was the 58% dark chocolate. Yummy. The kids then we're able to buy their own chocolate, as well as gifts for their families.

It's been a long, but awesome day!
