The bus dropped us off 2 kilometers outside of town where we walked a trail on the Camino. Arriving into town, we first visited the Palacio Episcopal, a beautiful building built by Gaudi. The students walked through the building and admired some of the art work inside....

What a day!  The busses picked us up bright and early from camp and we drove to ASTORGA, singing and laughing all the way.  Getting off the bus with the city in the near distance, we trekked a bit of the famous Camino de Santiago, enjoying the landscape of green fields and the towers of the city hall.  When we finally arrived in Astorga we split into groups and began to explore!  Some of us went...

Today was an early start to a long and eventful day. We left early this morning to head to Astorga. Astorga is a very picturesque town with a lot of amazing history. It also is where part of the Camino de Santiago passes so we thought we'd have a little taste of our own Camino. After walking into Astorga we split into 3 groups for the activities: Roman museum, Gaudis palace, and the best part; the chocolate factory!...

Day 2 began with a morning nature walk! We learned some new vocabulary in our English class: moss, bark, stick, rocks and set out to see what we could find. Kids were encouraged to pick up a few flowers or leaves from trees. Pablo even found a giant pine cone!  After, we all gathered in the activities room to learn a tradition Scottish dance from teacher Morag: "Ceilidh" dancing.  Later today, we're...

My students and I went on a nature walk today! Right behind the camp theres a beautiful trail that leads into the forest. The kids did a scavenger hunt and had to find things like: pine cones, muchrooms, fruits, etc. After class, we took them into the game room where they learned a typical Scottish dance from our Scottish councelor, Morag. The children learned the dance really quickly and had a lot of fun doing it....

My class (6-8 year-olds), had a great first day!  Everyone was very enthusiastic about English class, where we learned each others' names, our ages, and our birthdays.  We talked about all the fun stuff we are going to do at camp this week.  Later on we enjoyed some active games up by the pool, like Ships and Sailors, and Birdie in a Tree.  Everyone was super tired afterwards, and happy to go down...

Today we spent a long and happy time learning traditional Scottish line dancing from Morag, our resident Scot!  The students are such great dancers!  We also went on a nice walk up into the hills behind camp.  It was a beautiful hot day and our campers were Nature Explorers, collecting flowers and rocks and identifying lots of different insects.  Back at the camp, we drew pictures of our favorite...

They started the day with games. We played 'ships and sailors' plus 'catch the bacon'.  After we had a well deserved break and a fruit snack. Next we delved into an English lesson where we went through vocabulary for the nature walk and scavenger hunt.
