Wow, what an amazing day! Full of outdoor activities and fun! Thursday morning we woke up early and split into different groups after breakfast. My group walked through the forest and fields behind camp to Rancho Canada, just 15 minutes down the road from GMR. We met two lovely horses named Brisa and Bon Bon, owned by Rocio, head of Rancho. All the kids (and some of the teachers!) rode the horses round the...
Today was the last day of camp we spent the majority of the day preparing for the English fair. It was a lot of fun my class set up a dart tossing game we drew a gigantic background with images from the camp such as the cabins and trees and then we attached balloons to it and had the students and their siblings and parents throw darts at the balloons to pop them and earn prizes. When it came time to start the...
After breakfast, we got the campers ready to start a day of activities! First we split the group into our teaching groups. My group got on the coach first to head to Vegacervera for caving, rock climbing and archery. When we arrived we split the groups into 3 separate groups for the 3 different activities. Me and Dana took one group together. Our group first went to do archery. It was hot, but we survived! The...
Today was one of the best days of camp so far we started the morning by going caving it was incredible we got to see the inside of a very very old cave and we had to use helmets with flashlights on them and navigate our way through the tunnels. It was a lot of fun but also a little bit scary especially when no lights were on after that we all went rock climbing it was even more fun than I expected almost...
Today has been another very busy day. We started the morning by travelling to Vegacevera where we learnt archery, practiced rock climbing and got real dirty crawling through a natural cave. We had a little run-in with the cows who were trying to cool off in the shade of the caves but the kids loved all the activities! We have some real Robin Hoods in camp. We got back on the bus to head to camp for lunch and then...
Hi hi hi!!!! Today was even better than yesterday! We had a full day of outdoor excursions. Half went to ride horses and the other half went to go caving, rocking climbing and to do archery. The group I went with stated off riding horses! I have some great photos of them riding. It was a little slow but we all love horses so it was nice to pat them and ride them. We had a few cowboys though, riding with only...
Today was a day full of games and arts and crafts! We started off with the dual of the day where two teams competed with a wheel barrel race, it was close but Billy's team took the win. We played loads of games up by the field and had the kids running around and dancing with games like musical chairs and freeze dance. In English class we prepared for our exciting carnival game on Saturday. My students prepared...
After breakfast we did the dual of the day, where my and Billy's group went head to head in a wheelbarrow race. Billy's group won, but my group did their best - Sparrrrrtans! Next, we headed up to the football pitch to play a few games - 'hot potato' and 'foxes and hens'. We then went down to have a break and eat some fruit. After we began English class. My class began writing in their diaries. Then we went through...
Day 4!! So far my favourite day of the camp. Everything was super fun and I laughed a lot with all the kids. After breakfast we went up to the football field and played Bomb, and Foxes and Hens. The girls were great players and little Laura was incredibly fast at running!! Very fun time up there. We went back down for English class where we talked about our favourite parts of the day from yesterday and we all...
